It’s a Doozie

Topnotch and luxurious, the Model J Dusenberg car of the 1920’s, was often referred to as a doozie. Dusenberg cars were considered some of the very best cars of the time, and were built entirely by hand in Auburn, Indiana.

It’s a doozie” (also spelled doozy) became a normal expression in this small town, referring to anything impressive or outstanding. Owner and entrepreneur, Lara Habig, grew up in the automobile mecca of Auburn and continues to embrace her heritage with Doozie Marketing.

Although only car enthusiasts remember the real significance, the slang meaning of something extraordinary has stuck. For more information on Auburn and its automobile history:  www.acdmuseum.org.
